Process & Progress

Our pathway to a sustainable future

We have set ourselves sustainability targets that will make a difference by 2030 and put us on a realistic trajectory to create long-lasting change across all the industries that we work with.

We have already taken significant steps to achieve our ambition for climate neutral operations by 2030 and in parallel, our focus is to support our customers to achieve their targets.

Sustainability isn’t just about carbon, we are transforming our health and safety culture, developing a future-ready workforce and supply chain, and innovating solutions through our global R&D centres and academic collaborations.”

Rebecca Hooper,
CLPT Group Sustainability Manager

Focusing on carbon emissions

Our ambition is to become climate neutral by 2030, and net zero by 2050.

Significant progress has been made in decarbonising our operations from our 2021 baseline year. We continue to put measures in place to address the CO2 emissions from our operations.

Reducing value chain emissions

Our greatest impact comes from helping our customers reduce their CO2 emissions. For this reason, we are driving innovation globally. We explore opportunities by piloting new solutions, and help our customers to deploy our low-carbon technologies. To further support them, we have developed tools to quantify both the embodied carbon in our products, as well as their lifetime emissions during use.

Acting with integrity

We are committed to conducting business in an ethical, responsible and accountable way.

Our commitment is outlined in our Code of Conduct.
We have adapted our procurement practices and project protocols to ensure continuous alignment between our Code of Conduct and our delivery.

To meet the expectations of investors and wider stakeholders, we have developed bespoke data collection and reporting procedures to that we can monitor our performance and readily against environmental, social
 and governance (ESG) indicators.

Keeping people safe and well

The safety of our employees, and the people we influence, is always our first priority.

We target zero harm to all that are affected by our actions and decisions, whether they are employees, contractors and visitors at our sites. We continuously improve our performance in finding safer ways to manufacture and distribute our products and services, and we have launched a programme to evolve our global safety culture, to share best practice, and to deliver safety leadership.

In 2023 is the baseline year from which we plan to improve our Health and Safety practice – and for this reason 379 safety audits were completed, more than one per day.

Building a future-ready team

In today’s rapidly evolving world, fostering a sustainable workforce is not just about having the right skills, but also about promoting well-being and creating an environment where every individual can grow and thrive. At the heart of this mission are three key pillars: empowering young professionals, cherishing experience, and promoting a healthy work-life balance.

We are continuing to evolve our collection of employment data to meet ESG data reporting requirements while maintaining confidentiality as appropriate to national and international legislation.
